Patti’s Party World is more than just a business to me, it’s part of my story.

Patti’s has been a staple in this Jersey Shore community for 32 years. Long before I owned it, it was known as the place for balloons. Customers remember big helium arrangements, extravagant arches, organic garlands, and celebrations that filled the summer air with color. Long before DIY balloon arches and tiny pop up balloon businesses, Patti's was THE balloon supplier. That reputation matters to me, and protecting it has always been a priority.

Long before I was a business owner, I had set out have a successful nursing career and I wanted to become a mother. At 21, I gave birth to my beautiful Lilyana Janae and I thought my life was fully planned out. However, that all changed in a blink of an eye. At five years old, my whole world Lilyana passed away from meningitis in just five days. I thought my life was over. I slowly rebuilt, focusing on nursing, marriage, and motherhood. My children are my whole world! However I felt unfulfilled from the loss of Lilyana.

When I was presented the offer to purchase Patti's Party World, my heart lit up. I could feel the presence of my daughter and I could see her smiling upon me. She was such a fun, energetic, and beautiful girl who loved to celebrate any occasion.

This was a big change for me. I was used to stability, structure, and knowing what my paycheck would look like. Leaving that behind to go onto the great unknown was scary! But I trusted my gut.

There are moments in life that either break you or rebuild you. I had to choose which direction I was going to go. Rebuilding didn’t mean pretending everything was okay. It meant creating something meaningful out of something devastating. Now on this latest venture to create an expanded Patti's Party World and build The Enchanted Lily Room, I am filled with joy and inspiration from my past.

The Enchanted Lily Room was created in honor of Lilyana.

Her favorite movie was Tangled. The story of the enchanted flower, the glowing light, and the lanterns always meant something to her — and after she passed, the words in that movie and the song about light and loss hit in a way I can’t even fully explain. It was almost impossible to ignore how closely it mirrored what I was feeling.

Every year, we release lanterns on the beach in her honor.

The room is not meant to be a luxury ballroom or something over-the-top. It’s meant to be simple, beautiful, and meaningful. Soft gray walls, white trim, clean lines — a blank canvas where families can celebrate their moments without distraction. A space that photographs beautifully without costing a fortune.

I believe people don’t book rooms — they book moments.

Balloons are still the heart of my business. They are what Patti’s has been known for for decades, especially during the busy Jersey Shore summers. The Enchanted Lily Room is an extension of that — a way to create a one-stop celebration shop where families can rent a space, add balloons, bring their own décor, host a tea party, or simply gather together.

This business represents resilience for me. It represents choosing not to give up. It represents honoring Lilyana in a way that feels light instead of heavy.

I want people to walk into Patti’s Party World and feel joy. I want them to feel supported. I want them to have a beautiful space they can afford. And I want Lilyana’s light to quietly live on in the background of all of it.
